Introduction To The Storyline Content Uploader

How To Use The Storyline Content Uploader

eLearning Magic Toolkit version 2.7 introduced an integrated Articulate Storyline activity uploader which can be found in the main ‘eLM Toolkit’ settings screen of WP-Admin. Make sure you have updated to the latest version of our plugin if you cannot see the SL360 Content tab.

The Content Uploader system is simple to use, and is made up of the following elements as highlighted in this screenshot:

  1. The ZIP file uploader – click on the Choose File button to select a published Articulate Storyline 360 ZIP file found on your computer. Once you have selected the correct file, click on the Upload button to begin the upload process to your WordPress site. The eLearning Magic Toolkit will automatically unpackage the ZIP file for you, and once finished will add the project to your Uploaded Activities table.

After publishing your project in Storyline, click on the ZIP button shown to create a file compatible for uploading with the eLearning Magic Toolkit Content Uploader

The title of the project will be shown as what you have set in Storyline 360 when publishing the project, so take this opportunity to give your projects a distinct and recognisable title.

  2. The Embed Shortcode – This is the shortcode that you can use to embed any Storyline activity you have uploaded onto any post or page on your website. The shortcode can be used directly in your WordPress Gutenberg editor for example, or if you are using Elementor or WP Bakery Page Builder then you can create a Shortcode Widget to paste your code into:
The shortcode itself is comprised of an editable width and height value, which accepts both percentage and pixel values, in order for you to fine tune the appearance of you embedded Storyline activity on the page.
  3. Replace Button – Clicking this button will display a small popup activity uploader window which will allow you to upload a new ZIP file to be unpackaged and replace the existing project. This is useful as it means any page containing the shortcode for that activity will not need to be edited.
  4. Delete Button – If you no longer want this specific activity to be found on your WordPress site then simply click this button to delete the project folder entirely.
