Manually Adding Storyline Content To A WordPress Page
As well as using the Storyline activity uploader and shortcode system built into the eLearning Magic Toolkit, you also have the ability to embed your Storyline activity into any post or page on your WordPress site using an iframe, or any other content loader (e.g. popup window plugin) that requires a URL.
Requirements for placing Storyline content into WordPress using the eLearning Magic Toolkit
Note that Storyline activities must be added to a post, page, or custom post type within your WordPress platform.
eLearning Magic Toolkit works as long as your Storyline content can be accessed by the user directly on a WordPress page. You don’t need to have an LMS plugin installed, such as LearnDash or LifterLMS. However, if you use direct links in WordPress to your story.html file within the Storyline project folder, you may find that the plugin won’t work as intended.
How to embed an uploaded Storyline project into WordPress
We recommend always using the provided shortcode for copying and pasting your Storyline project to be displayed on a post or page.
For developers that may require more fine tuned controls however, such as if you wish to set up your own iframe tag, then you can link to the uploaded project’s ‘story.html’ file by using the following path our plugin creates to your project:
https://YOURSITEADDRESS/wp-content/uploads/eLM-SL360/ELM_UPLOAD_ID/story.html
(Replace the parts in all caps in the address above. Your ELM_UPLOAD_ID number is found by looking at the provided shortcode for your activity on the SL360 Content settings tab. For example, the project Glassmorphism WITH Video below has the ID value of 001).
When you publish your project in Storyline, make sure you choose to publish for ‘Web’. Publishing for ‘LMS’ will also work, but the additional files that the LMS publish option produces aren’t necessary in this case.
