A Future-Focused Digital Learning Platform For the British Compressed Air Society

Success should never be a barrier to further success. But bringing in more business can lead to additional costs and scalability concerns — which is why the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) turned to Discover eLearning.

Frustrated by the ever-increasing costs quoted by their previous eLearning provider, BCAS knew it was time to find an LMS solution that would scale up as their membership grew.

As the UK’s only technical trade association, BCAS wanted a platform that would do their learners’ skillset justice. It had to be bold, modern, and inspiring, and slot seamlessly into their existing online network. It also needed to hold 15 online and blended learning programmes, with more to be added in the future, as well as enabling ticket sales for live webinar sessions and physical classroom events.

After seeing the work we’ve achieved with our previous clients, BCAS hired Discover eLearning to deliver a slick, scalable WordPress-based LMS.

Our Solution

Creating a customised, cost-effective eLearning solution

With 15 courses set to run on the new LMS platform, we needed to build a robust solution that would scale up without adding extra costs. By using WordPress – and its huge range of fantastic eLearning plugins – we knew we could create a bespoke platform that would meet their needs.

We used LearnDash as the basis for the LMS. LearnDash is renowned for its wealth of customisable features, and unlike many major eLearning platforms, it doesn’t use a per-seat pricing model – so it’s really easy and affordable to add more learners as your business grows.

Using LearnDash meant we could develop a number of custom features BCAS needed in their LMS. We built a custom exam grading system; an external certificate upload function; and an automated membership validation system to simplify new registrations.

Together, these features allowed us to create a bespoke eLearning solution that was easy to use for staff and learners alike. It clicked into BCAS’s existing processes with ease, making the transition to the new system slick and seamless.

Empowering trade learners with a modern LMS

BCAS has now launched all 15 online and blended learning courses with their new LMS – and they’ve already seen fantastic results.
