It’s a brand new year and we thought that our old LearnDash Demo Site, as good as it was, really needed a fresh lick of paint and a revamp with fresh features and showcase areas for all the great features built in to LearnDash Core Plugin, and all of the great third party plugins that are available from the likes of Uncanny Owl, WisdmLabs and ourselves at Discover eLearning! The address for our demo site is still the same – http://learndashdemo.discoverelearninguk.com. And whilst the overall design is now complete and live, we will be adding to the content on the demo as we go along with even more feature updates and add-on experimentations as we progress throughout the year. We are starting a new series of video on Youtube entitled Discover eLearning Labs, where we will demonstrate all of our experimentation in LearnDash to show you have versatile and expansive this WordPress LMS solution really is!
Let’s take a quick run through of what you can find on our NEW demo site right now, remember that you can log in as a learner using the credentials on the front page in order to see learner-specific features:
1 – Try one of our demo courses
Our brand new course catalogue system (http://learndashdemo.discoverelearninguk.com/course-info/) is both searchable via keyword or category. From this page, customers can get straight into open courses, or be navigated to a store page in order to pay for access. Each of our courses now has its own unique item page which is nicely laid out and details everything a prospective learner would need to know about their course.
2 – See our lesson and Topic Progression Tool using Storyline or Captivate content in action
Log into the platform as a learner and navigate to the following course area (http://learndashdemo.discoverelearninguk.com/courses/learndash-lesson-and-topic-progression-using-storylinecaptivate/). You can then see our LearnDash add-on plugin in action! Our plugin is available in both free and premium versions, both of which can be downloaded from our main site (https://discoverelearninguk.com/store/)
3 – Check out the range of community led features for LearnDash
On the top bar menu we have a drop down category called Community. Within this sub-menu you will find a number of key features demoed that many customers want to see on their LearnDash platforms including an articles area, open and closed forum pages, and a whole new calendar system that can be used to highlight key dates within a course such as submission dates for submissions, or live events such as virtual classroom sessions. Calendar events can be linked to from within LearnDash course pages and vice versa.
4 – Our new Discover eLearning Labs
When you are logged in as a learner account you will see our new Labs section appear in the top bar menu. Keep an eye on this area throughout the year as we will be adding some new experimental features for LearnDash into this area, and we will continue to share news about this on all of our social media channels.
