For just over a year, Discover eLearning has been developing LMS solutions for businesses across the UK. But what is it that makes our offer unique, amd why should businesses trust in what we deliver? To begin answering this question, I want to discuss the mission that our business was built to achieve. We are based in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK, but we have this year expanded our reach across the country by working with new clients based in various geographical areas. Our background is education, with many years collective experience of working in the education sector, project managing technology enhanced learning initiatives within Higher Education and delivering solutions for both the Further Education and Work Based Learning Sectors. As a new start-up company, we carried our philosophy of delivering value added, cutting edge solutions into both the private and public sector. A big part of our philosophy is in the hands on, personal approach to our operation. We believe that this makes us an attractive business development partner versus some of our rival who we believe are too highly geared towards driving sales, and pushing account managers who aim to increase sales of bolt ons which often don’t add any real value. The way we work is different, we operate on the basis of delivering exactly what a customer needs first time.

We then couple this with our strong belief in the Learning Management System solution which we champion, that is LearnDash (http://www.learndash.com)

LearnDash is a modular platform, scalable and highly customisable, meaning that it can be geared towards exactly what an organisation needs it to do. We have taken LearnDash as our base platform and expanded it further to deliver online compliance training within private sector industry, to being a means of delivering and tracking modern apprenticeships.

In 2015, we have worked with a major UK car manufacturer using LearnDash to deliver online skills training as a part of an apprenticeship delivered to over 1500 staff. As well as tailoring the platform to be as intuitive and user friendly as possible, we also worked closely with the administration staff associated with the training department for the organisation to ensure that the right information and reports could be generated to track any learner, or a subset of learners as a group, at any time during their course.

As well as this, we have worked with smaller companies who contacted us as they were looking to offer new product training as a way to add further value to what is offered to their customers. Again, we analysed that LearnDash was a great solution that was geared towards achieving these goals effectively and affordably.

We want to push LearnDash out even further into the UK market. We envisage more companies taking advantage of the platform, as well as educational bodies including schools, who are now starting to take advantage of what was previously deemed as ‘Higher Edtech’, in order to make their institution more appealing to parents, to high calibre teachers,  to Ofsted, and to funding bodies to drive revenue streams.

We will continue to market our services next year, and we hope as many people will join us as possible in becoming truly edtech enabled. And remember if you want to talk to us, our consultations are free and non committal, we love making new connections and building a vibrant technology enhanced learning community. If you live in the North East, book in to have a coffee with us in 2016!
