A year seems such a long time between blog posts, but quite honestly these last few months have flown by so quickly that when I realised I had been neglecting our blog for nearly 11 months now, I wasn’t completely surprised!
That’s because the work that continues to flow out of Discover eLearning shows no signs of slowing down, and I personally am so thrilled to see how wide-spread our customer base has grown.
From custom LearnDash installation, design and development clients based in United States, South Africa and Australia, to a handful of instructional design and eLearning development projects based right here at home.
To try and keep things short, I’m going to provide a one-to-two line news summary to bring us up to speed, and I will certainly try harder to keep the news and updates flowing from Discover eLearning HQ more often going forward!
Middlesbrough College Launch Their First Fully Distance Learning Access To Higher Education Course In Collaboration With Discover eLearning
Most definitely the biggest and most intensive project that I have been involved in over the last year. This project is fast coming to an end with the first cohort of learners due to complete the course this summer.
In the process of designing and building this fully online distance learning experience, built in to the college LMS – Canvas, we have created over three and a half hours of digital video and 130 individual interactive game based learning experiences!
‘Speak Life’ Brings A Fresh Attitude To Learning At School In The USA
When we heard about The Speak Life Foundation and the wonderful work that Mia Thornton and her team are doing with young people in the Atlanta, GA area (and beyond), I knew I had to get involved with their latest project which provides new digital learning opportunities directly in to high schools.
We have supported Speak Life as their digital partner in the creation of a brand new online subscription service for their cutting edge online curriculum materials, as well as building interactions and smart customer engagement tools which help to make their online service as valuable to the educators they support as what they are able to offer in person.
LearnDash Launch Version 3.0!
This, as LearnDash say, is an absolute game-changer for the WordPress LMS market, and they are not over-exaggerating! With a new backend course builder experience through to the new front-end ‘Focus Mode’ to help learners become more engaged in their course content, this release is really championing a better overall digital learning experience for users.
The best news that we found during our testing is that our plugins, providing a means of better integrating Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate eLearning content in to a LearnDash LMS course, continues to function just fine. We will be updating our support pages and our WP Plugin Repository listing very soon!
